The staff at our World of Goods Resale Store was excited as new directional signage was installed last week. The store is a very popular drop-off site for various donations for the Catholic Charities of Dallas’ programs. Donors started to voice their concerns that it was often difficult to know where items should be left or what times donations could be delivered. Edwin Chinchilla, Store Manager, explained, “This new signage is going to greatly assist our potential donors with the process of dropping off donations here.” In addition to the signage, the store set up a donation box available to donors to securely place their items in after hours. “These signs will better inform the community of when we are able to accept their generous gifts. We also foresee it eliminating many inconvenienced individuals who may travel all the way to drop items off to find that they would have to come back at a later time,” said Chinchilla. WOG also offers donation pick-ups, mostly for larger items or furniture. To schedule a pick-up, simply call the store at 214-342-8231.
Each year, the World of Goods Resale Store provides thousands of dollars worth of material assistance to the Refugee Resettlement Program of Catholic Charities of Dallas. That is why donations from the generous community have become crucial for the store to maintain its ability to serve those in need in the community. With help from World of Goods, hundreds of refugee families that flee violence and persecution in their countries are resettled here in Dallas. The store assists the Refugee Program with the set-up of apartments for these families as well as furnishes them.
