Thank you to our Liberty Mutual volunteers who participated in “Serve with Liberty” this past week at some of service sites! About 25 volunteers at Mary R. Saner Child Development Center assisted with planting a beautiful garden at the entrance of the center.
In addition about 20 volunteers generously assisted staff at our Immigration and Legal Services office and World of Goods resale store – what an impact that made on the clients we serve!
Thank you to all who participated in “Serve with Liberty” at CCD – we could not help so many in need without the love and dedication of our community volunteers!
Thank you from on of our program directors, Jennifer Livas with Mary R. Saner Child Development Center: “The volunteers at Liberty Mutual were outstanding!! There were 2 groups who helped to plant a garden. The first group prepared the ground by digging and softening the ground and building the garden. The second group painted the garden bed, selected the plants and planted. The second group finished quicker than we planned so they scrubbed the playground equipment with brooms, soap and water. They also washed our buses and helped load soil and mulch. The weather was extremely hot but it did not affect the work ethic for either group. They not only came prepared to help but offered to help in ways we hadn’t even thought of. I have never experienced a group be so eager to assist and work so hard. They truly invested their time and energy. AND, the garden is BEAUTIFUL!!! The volunteer group named the garden “El Jardin de la Libertad” – The Liberty Garden. We are beyond blessed for this project and would welcome Liberty Mutual back anytime!”
