For the month of March, Together We Learn would like to recognize three-year-old Kevin Vasquez, as a student, who has demonstrated great improvement since the beginning of the spring session. When Kevin first began with Together We Learn, he exhibited signs of separation anxiety towards his mother by crying each morning when being dropped off. He thought he wouldn’t see her again.
Mrs. Marivel and Mrs. Josephina, his teachers stated that Kevin was timid, not communicative, nor would participate in class for the first month in a half of the spring session. Both teachers stated each morning they attempted to console Kevin and encourage him to participate with his classmates to distract him from missing his mother.
After about a month or so, Kevin began to become comfortable with the idea of being dropped off and staying with his classmates without crying or looking for his mother. Kevin began speaking, even if not in a loud tone, but would answer the teacher’s questions if asked.
It was also noted that he began participating in class activities as well as with his classmates. Together We Learn would like to acknowledge Kevin’s achievements as well as to his teachers and mother, who helped Kevin transition into being in the classroom.
