Welcome to the Official Blog of Catholic Charities of Dallas! This is the place to find all of the latest news, information and client stories from our service sites across Dallas.
Motivated by the teachings and love of Jesus Christ, Catholic Charities of Dallas serves, advocates for, and empowers people in need regardless of race, religion, age, gender or national origin and calls the community to action.
Catholic Charities of Dallas celebrates more than 120 years of continuous service to families, tracing its origin to the first diocesan orphanage, St. Joseph Home, which began in 1891. CCD itself was formally established in March of 1941 by the joining of the diocesan orphanages – Dunne Memorial Home for Boys and the St. Joseph’s Home for Girls, the Catholic Welfare Services, the Marillac Free Clinic & Social Center and Mount St. Michael’s.
Our entire organization (including all programs) is accredited by the Council of Accreditation (COA) and we are a partner agency of the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.
